We aren't the first electricity comparison website out there, but we are the first one that doesn't want a dollar of your money or your future energy retailers money if you were to switch to a plan you have seen on our page.

How do you do it?

It's quite simple. Punch in your details, and you will get what we think is the cheapest deal right now based on what you have told us.

It is done by putting all of the data that you have given us about your energy usage into our own proprietary algorithm that compares all of the market. It is all updated by our own team based out of our North Sydney office. While we do leverage technology, every single plan that you see has been input and vetted by our team before making it into the algorithm.

Since we don't take a commission or a cut from retailers, we don't have a “sign up now link”. All you do is, navigate your way to their website using the name of the plan or we will update the links to the appropriate source (Generally energy made easy etc) so you can sign up at your own leisure.

No calls from any African animals (they are cute though), and no slamming you into a plan because we are getting a bonus that month. We just give you what we think is the cheapest option for you.

So, why do we do it?

No one wants to pay an electricity bill, we get it. The cost of electricity keeps going up, the amount of electricity we are using at home and at our businesses just keeps increasing and then comparing who is the cheapest feels impossible. Often websites and businesses won't even compare the whole market, so you have to get a million phone calls and use a million sites to try and find the best option.

We thought that sucked so we started Electricity.com.au.

We have our own inhouse team that is constantly scouring the market for updated deals. Our goal is to compare the whole market. It's a big task we know!

Right now, we compare over 40 energy retailers that are currently offering plans to new customers. If we are missing one, forgive us. We work so hard but there is a chance we might miss a plan change here or there. We believe in humans helping humans, so every deal is entered by a human in our North Sydney office.

Now, I can hear you ask, so how do we make money? Leftá? Cash? Mullah?

A very good question.

The short answer is, Electricity.com.au doesn't. Rubbish business model right? However, our sister company Green.com.au might give you a call if we think we can help you save some money with solar, a solar battery or all things renewable. We might also use non-sensitive data to understand and help people understand energy usage around the country.

Plus, our dream is to be able to offer retailer energy ourselves so one day, you might even be able to get your Electricity from Electricity.com.au! Pretty cool eh.

Because, at the end of the day, we just want you to pay less for your energy.
